Political Comedy in September
Janitha Marasinghe’s long awaited political comedy which was earlier to release in April 2019 was postponed following the Easter Sunday attack and situation that followed.The film will be released on September 6 at CEL circuit cinemas including Regal –Colombo, Lido –Borella and 50 cinemas islandwide.
The theme song of the film title “Diyawannawe Thiyanne Monteisoriyak” sung by Sunil Perera of “Gypsies” is now popular in the Youtube and it will be the first time that Tennyson Cooray and Sriyantha Mendis acting together in a film.
Following this month’s release of “Vijayaba Kollaya” which is now doing well in cinemas, ‘Jayasri Amathithuma’ is aimed to attract family audience and also it is to go in line with the current political hype in the country.
Directed by Nishantha Weerasingha, the cast of the film includes Sriyantha Mendis, Tennyson Cooray, Kusum Renu, Damitha Abeyratne, Gayathri Dias, Luxman Amarasekara, Ariyasena Gamage, D.B. Gangodathenna, Shiromika Fernando and Jeevan Handunnetti.
