Sri Lanka University Games at Matara
View(s):The 13th Sri Lanka University Games will be declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena at the Wellamadama Sports Complex of University of Ruhuna on August 26. Over 7000 athletes representing 14 universities will compete in 36 sporting events at the 13th edition of SLUG.
The University Games was first hosted by the University of Peradeniya in 1980 and has been held every three years ever since. Sri Lanka’s cricketing legend Kumar Sangakkara will be the chief guest at the awards presentation and closing ceremony which is to take place on September 7.
