College of Radiologists set to hold annual academic sessions
View(s):The annual academic sessions of the Sri Lanka College of Radiologists will be held from August 30 to September 1 at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo.
This is the main academic event of the college and is held to share the latest knowledge and experiences among local and international radiologists.
This year’s sessions on the theme ‘Musculo-skeletal imaging’ will have a major input from a team of experts headed by Prof. Mahesh Prakash from the Post-graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research in Chandigarh, India.
Musculo-skeletal radiology is a fast-growing sub-specialty of diagnostic radiology and plays an important part in the assessment and management of patients with a wide variety of injuries and soft tissue conditions.
Meanwhile, the theme of the pre-congress workshop is ‘PET CT’ which is an essential imaging modality in managing patients with cancers. It will be conducted by Prof. Jun Hatazawa from Japan, an expert in Nuclear Medicine at the Research Centre for Nuclear Physics.
