Unique number for Public Exam candidates- Exams Dept.
View(s):A Unique number for students sitting public examinations will be introduced with effect from next year, said Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha.
He said that, from next years Grade 5 Scholarship exam, followed by the GCE O/L and A/L exams, the number will be used.
“With the use of the number, all exam results of a candidate will be stored under his/her Unique number. Not only exam results, but also performances at national level, such as in Sports, Cultural and other activities will be stored under the same number,” he explained.
He said the database will be useful to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the students, and take remedial action, wherever necessary.
He said the database will also be useful for assessing performances of schools and to take action, if necessary.
The Unique number will also be helpful to the students.
