Visitors to the park are delighted to the glorious sight of Cherry Blossoms in bloom

Visitors to the Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya are greeted to the glorious sight of Cherry Blossoms in full bloom at the entrance as well as in other areas of the park.

Introduced to Lanka in 2014 by Kazuchika Mori, the President of the Sakura Exchange Association in Japan, the blossoms are still a rare sight to Sri Lankans.

The heavy rainfall the country experienced last month led the destruction of the blossoms which were in full bloom at the Golf Club, the park near General’s House and alongside the road leading to the Grand Hotel.

The recent spell of dry weather however has brought the blossoms out in all their glory and provide a spectacular sight.
