The Who announce new album

The Who announced the release of a new album titled ‘WHO’. The 11 track album will be out on 23rd November. The lead single ‘Ball And Chain’ has been released already. The new album will be the 16th by the legendary rock band, but the new long player comes after a break of 13 long years. Band member is the co-producer of the album with D.Sardy. The Who will also embark on a 10 date tour of the UK in 2020 starting on 16th March at the Manchester Arena and ending on 8th April at the Wembley Arena. Tickets went on sale on 20th September.

Adele files for divorce

Pop star Adele has filed for divorce from her estranged husband Simon Konecki. The couple split up last April. The singer cited irreconcilable differences as she requested joint custody of their son Angelo. The couple married in 2016.

Post Malone dominating the charts

Post Malone is the artist who seems to dominating the UK singles chart this week on the back of the release of his highly anticipated album ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding’, which topped the UK album chart. The 24 year old US artist saw two of his songs make it to the UK top 10. ‘Circles’ moved up from 11 to 5 while ‘Goodbyes’ moved up from 14 to 10. The pop/ rap track ‘Goodbyes’ is the second single from Malone’s current album.

The song is on its second run on the UK top in 10 weeks. When it was first released ‘Goodbyes’ debuted at No: 5 but lost ground and rapid fell to 20. But with the new album hype and airplay it gained ground to land at No: 10 this week with the controversial video also assisting to some measure. The song features Young Thug. Malone’s next single ‘Circles’ is the third to be taken off his ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding’ album. This week it moved from 11 to No: 5. The song is pop with mellow acoustic guitars flowing through.

Eddie Money no more

Eddie Money famous for the hit song ‘Take Me Home Tonight’ featuring Ronnie Spector back from 1986 has died aged 70 in a Los Angles hospital on 13th September. Money was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer.

Rick Ocasek lead vocalist for ‘Cars’ found dead

Rick Ocasek the lead vocalist for the band the Cars has died aged 75. His body was found on 15th September at his Manhattan apartment in New York. As part of the Cars he did the vocals on the huge 1984 hit ‘Drive’ which has become a kind of anthem for the motor trade.

Sir Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney record Lennon song

Sir Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney have recorded the late John Lennon’s song ‘Grow Old With Me’. The track will feature on Ringo Starr’s new album ‘What’s My Name’ which will be released on 25th October. The song also features a line from the song ‘Here Comes The Sun’ by another ex band mate from the Beatles the late George Harrison.
