Here’s your chance to support Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation
View(s):It’s that time again, when friends and supporters of the Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation help to create awareness of this rapidly increasing disease. Saturday, September 28 is when people join the LAF Walk of 5 kilometres in and around Colombo starting from the Cinnamon Grand’s Angsana Spa Garden.
The event has been sponsored over the years by the Cinnamon Grand together with the Police, print media, Walkers Tours, Elephant House products, Cargills, Medi-Calls, Nestle and their mobile van, the popular helium filled balloon supplier – Balloon Team, the mobile Dj, Pet Packaging for drinking water, donors of prizes and photographer Wasantha Jayasekera.
This year too, participants are encouraged to buy a raffle ticket at the premises and souvenirs that will be displayed on site. Fabulous prizes are on offer such as a one night stay on full board basis for two at Citrus Waskaduwa, vouchers for dining from Hilton Colombo, Hilton Colombo Residence, Galadari and much more.
All participants must be there at 8 a.m. to register, to enable the walk to get started on time. Seniors who are unable to walk can hop on the air conditioned luxury bus that’s provided by Walkers Tours so that they too in their own way contribute their support in creating awareness whilst enjoying the ride and fellowship amongst other seniors.
