Dulanjana Bandara
Thirteen-year-old Y.D. Dulanjana Bandara is a promising Karateka, studying at Vijaya National College Matale. By now he has achieved several victories in martial art at district, provincial and national level.
Dulanjana won a Gold medal for his first place in the Under-13 Kumite event at the Central Province Karate -do Championship 2019 held at the Municipal Indoor Stadium in Kandy from August 31 to September 2. He was also awarded a Bronze medal for his third place in the Kata event at the same competition.
At district level he excelled to bag two gold medals for his first place in both Kata and Kumite events in the Matale District Karate -do Championship 2019 which was also held at Municipal Indoor Stadium in Kandy.
As an 11-year-old, Dulanjana had the distinction of winning the first place in kumite at the Open Karate-do Championship 2017 conducted by Senshi Shotokan Karate Association at Shalika Hall in Narahenpita in 2017. Dulanjana Bandara is a student of sensei Upali Sirisena. He is also a member of the Vijaya College junior athletic and hockey teams.
