Mateesha paves the way for Trinity win
View(s):Trinity College opened their First XI School Cricket campaign with a comfortable 7-wicket win over St. Servatius College at the Asgiriya Stadium.
After Abishek Anandakumar had propelled the home team to an imposing total on day one, with an attractive hundred, paceman Mateesha Pathirana blasted his way through the St. Servatius batting with an exceptional bowling performance (6 wickets for 7 runs).
Bowled out for 121, the visitors improved marginally to total 162 in their second innings. Skipper Kesara Nuwantha had a wonderful match, bagging 7 for 72 and making scores of 21 and 72.
Left-armer Savindu Dias and off-spinner Umer Raizan took four wickets each to hasten the end.
