Xiteb’s CEO Dhanesh launches Ceylon Traveller Mobile App
View(s):At the recently held Cinnamon Future of Tourism Summit organised by Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, Xiteb®’s CEO Dhanesh R. Jayathilaka presented the newly developed Ceylon Traveller Mobile App, which was the most recent CSR project handled by Xiteb®, to Kishu Gomes- Chairman Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Board.
Kishu Gomes- Chairman Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Board, has extended his best wishes to Xiteb for promoting the concept of a new app to promote the untraversed niche locations in Sri Lanka among tourists.
The app is available on Playstore AND App store for both Android & iOS users. Out of the many CSR projects done by Xiteb®, Ceylon Traveller stands at the top, since the concept was initiated during a time when the tourism industry of Sri Lanka was affected by the recent crisis. The app provided immense support to the upliftment of the industry by promoting unique locations which were of value but rarely discovered by tourists.
Some locations were places which cannot be found on Google maps itself. “Therefore, there is a tendency that Google will make use of the app to add such unexplored destinations to their map,” the company said in a media release.
Xiteb® has engaged in developing many other CSR projects throughout the years. HodaBass, an award winning website and mobile app, is a platform that connects services-providers with customers who are in need of masons, plumbers, electricians, carpenters etc. The project was awarded as the Best Community Empowerment Programme in 2017, at the SLT Zero One Awards Ceremony.
Xiteb® said it was pleased by the feedback received for the Ceylon Traveller Mobile App, at the recently held Cinnamon conference. As its next step Xiteb® is expecting to implement the AR technology to the mobile app which would make the app more interesting.
