Teacher’s Day A tribute to all the wonderful Teachers…
View(s):Teachers are for a life time and they teach us many things except for the subject content. They often teach us the values we need as a human. And it is a profession which can never be replaced by robots since the emotions are shaped and nourished by the constant care of the teachers. While schooling, we always categorize our teachers into many categories. This is not about labelling them but about appreciating them for the different roles played in shaping the lives of thousands.
Cool teachers are our favourites. While the cool teachers make our stay in school a pleasant one, the less liked or the tuff teachers make us the citizens that are valued in the society. They mould us into becoming well disciplined, well- mannered and independent personalities in the hard way.
Though we ten to add them at the latter part of our favourite list they are the ones that we remember a life time. That takes time to bring realization and it comes when we have come to that point where all their hard work comes into prosperity. I personally experienced this the hard way but I must say that the discipline that I learnt that day has helped me enormously and I am eternally thankful to my Music teacher. She was one of the most organized and well-mannered teachers which I have seen in my life. Everything about her is prim and proper from her saree to her figure. And me, on the other hand learnt a lot about common sense from her which now luckily comes naturally.
I remember the day as the monitress, when my class record book went flying for not completing and getting it signed by her on time. And that was when I learnt my discipline of meeting deadlines and being responsible.
Moving on to the role of the cool teachers who were friendly, loving and caring they actually were the reason that we liked the school. They were more like friends we could share everything while we kept our distant from the strict ones. They were the ones who we ran to with our problems. We could see the mother’s, a counsellor’s and a friend’s caring in those teachers. This where I remember, my grade 8 class-teacher.
This was the time where we were going through a lot changes in life and we being the bilingual class had a lot of divisions and grudges between each other, and not to mention the continuous good name that we carried with us from the primary as the ‘ worst class’. We always tried to prove that we were. But she was the motivation and guidance that made us realize that this behaviour wouldn’t take us anywhere. She was the motivation behind our success as a united class which made a lot of life long memories, not to mention that we balanced our studies with our little mischievous doings.
Then there were those amazing teachers who dedicated their whole life the benefits of their students keeping away all other reasons including their own children. They were the ones who stayed back with the students till late nights for drama practices or whatever might bring glory to the school and the students. They were behind all the efforts of students to bring out the hidden talents.
And I heard of teachers who were behind the scenes of the Shakespeare drama competition who spent the whole day and were motivating guiding as well as rendering the hands as the modes of providing refreshments and transport at late night. And not to mention that all these including the food they bring the students with their sole voluntary nature which do not add into the little salary they get.
Everyone can’t go the extra mile to be a perfect teacher. They give individual attention to all the students and especially for the weak ones. They do so much more than their salary could do and nevertheless earns million more blessings that money couldn’t buy.
I heard of teachers who have considered and served the students beyond the walls of the school to make a change in their lives. There are teachers who visit the children’s houses to look into the problems that they encounter in their personal lives. These teachers work as counsellors, mentors as well as benefactors who personally assist or financially help the students.
The reason behind calling teaching as the noblest profession is that it provides guidance towards all the other professions including engineering, medicine, managing, banking and many more. Not convinced? The reason for you to be able to read this and for me to write this is a teacher. If there are no teachers to teach, there will not be another generation of doctors, engineers, managers or any other profession. There is one or many teachers in a person’s life which cannot be forgotten and that is because the influence or impact that was made in the person’s life.
