BCAS expo-2019
For the first time in the Kalmunai area BCAS expo-2019 – Higher Education & Job fair exhibition was organized by BCAS (British College of Applied Studies) Kalmunai Campus with the participation of higher educational institutions locally and internationally at BCAS Campus Kalmunai premises (392/1 Main Street, Kalmunai) last Thursday and Friday(September 12th and 13th).
The expo has swiftly broken the record of regional exhibition with plenty viewers.
The exhibition and job fair was initiated by the Centre Manager of BCAS Kalmunai Campus Eng. N.T.Hameed Ali as the remark of the completion of the 20 years of BCAS Campus and the 5 years of the BCAS Kalmunai Campus.
Eastern Province Education Ministry Secretary Mr. I.K.G.Muthubanda was the chief guest of the exhibition and former UGC Chairperson and existing BCAS Campus Academic Affairs Dean Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama was the special guest on this occasion.
The Eastern Province Education Ministry Secretary I.K.G.Muthubanda, the chief guest of the function inaugurated the exhibition and he observed the students’ innovations through the exhibits.
An educational stalls, job fair, innovative projects, medical camp, blood donation, educational counselling, business development techniques, cookery demos, construction consultancy, costing and estimating consultancy, English grammar market, legal clinic, game zone and food gallery were also exhibited and presented by the students.
The revolutions in technology, Industry, Economic, products, skills and best practices from the national and world over are depicted in this exhibition. All the exhibits and the students were generously appreciated and encouraged by the chief guest I.K.G.Muthubanda (Eastern Province Education Ministry Secretary). He gave a marvelous round of applause to the whole programme.
There were more than 3,000 visitors presented to the BCAS Kalmunai to look around the exhibits in the exhibition on both days. Eng. NT. Hameed Ali (Centre Manager) said that the exhibition had provided opportunities to students to learn many things, gain scholarships and avenues of employment. He said further that the job fair would help the students who expected to pursue higher studies in different fields.
As a part of this expo, a blood donation camp had been also organized in associate with the blood bank of Ashraf Memorial Hospital, Kalmunai. There were more than 60 donors who donated their blood to save many lives. A large number of schoolchildren had visited the exhibition. BCAS Kalmunai Campus Management and the staff were representing the stalls of the projects with the departmental students.
At the end of event, the conclusion ceremony was colorfully started with a raffle draw at the entrance of Kalmunai BCAS.
