Graduation Ceremony 2019 BCS Chartered Institute for IT
View(s):British Computer Society (BCS) The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka celebrated its 20th Graduation Ceremony and academic achievements on Tuesday 15th October 2019 at the BMICH where 488 received certificates and awards for BCS Higher Education qualifications for the year 2018/2019.
Michael Grant, President, BCS The Chartered Institute for IT was the Chief Guest, Lucy Ireland, Managing Director, Learning and Development of BCS The Chartered Institute for IT attended as the Guest of Honour while Deepashika Gunasekara Regional Manager for BCS Regional Office Sri Lanka, Ransith Fernando, Chairman BCS Sri Lanka Section and Vajeendra Kandegamage, Honorary Secretary for BCS
Sri Lanka Section and Country Exams Director British Council Rob Low graced the occasion.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the special awards. Pasindalee Dissanayake of Esoft Metro Campus won the Sri Lanka Prize for the Certificate in IT, Menarapitiyage Don Nishen Kaushik of Esoft Metro Campus won the World & Sri Lanka Prize for Diploma by Examinations and Sivaroopan Nirhoshan of Esoft Metro Campus won the World Prize and Sri Lanka Prize for Professional Graduate Diploma by Examination.
A special felicitation was accorded to the lecturers and academic staff of all BCS Approved Training Providers who supported BCS Higher Education Qualifications during last 20 years.
BCS has been delivering the Higher Education Examinations (HEQs) globally for over 50 years. Over the past 5 years, Sri Lanka has supported over 13,000 students to gain IT qualifications through this process. BCS Exams are held at standard venues in Colombo, Kandy and Jaffna with the supervision and quality assurance of exam delivery by the British Council.
BCS Graduation Ceremony is the most look forward event in the BCS Events Calendar annually.
