Donald Jayantha Felicitated
View(s):Welknown assistant director Donald Jayantha was felicitated at a special ceremony held in Deniyaya at the Kotapola Divisional Secretariat auditorium recently. The award was in recognition of his 35-year long contribution to Sinhala cinema as an award-winning assistant director and filmmaker with movies like ‘Maya’ and ‘Pravegaya’.
Donald Jayantha is an old boy of Kotapola National School.
Last year, Donald was conferred with the honorary titles of ‘Kalakeerthi’, ‘Sri Lanka Puthra’ and ‘Deshamanya’ by the Congress of Buddhist Kingdom.
Earlier, Donald Jayantha was also bestowed with the ‘Kalashoori Desha Mamaka Lanka Puthra’ honorary titles by the All Ceylon Cultural United Foundation, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Sinhala cinema industry.
Donald, the OCIC/SIGNIS award-winner has assisted in hit films including ‘Dehena’, ‘Vimukthi’, ‘One Shot’, ‘Parliament Jokes’, ‘Hiripoda Wessa’, ‘Anjalika’, ‘Asai Mang Piyambanna’, ‘Rosa Kele’, ‘Prabhakaran’, ‘Paya Enna Hiruse’, ‘Challenges’, ‘Suwanda Denuna Jeewithe’, ‘Super Six’, ‘Gindaree 2’, ‘President Super Star’, ‘Adareta Adaren’, ‘Adara Heenaya’, ‘Rush’, ‘Miss Jenice’, ‘Sihinabhisheka’ and several others.
