MTI in Bhutan, launches project and appoints associate
View(s):An international team of MTI Consultants were in the capital Thimphu last week where its first project was launched in Bhutan.
MTI also appointed a local Bhutanese associate who will facilitate market development and project management. Earlier in the week the MTI delegation had exploratory meetings with the CEOs of the Bank of Bhutan (BOB), the Bhutan Stock Exchange, Kuensel (the leading local newspaper group), with a further road show planned.
“We are also using this opportunity to study the concept of Gross National Happiness, how Bhutan has effectively integrated this into governance and culture. We had an enlightening exchange session with the Centre for Bhutan Studies, the country’s leading research agency cum think tank, whilst sharing MTI’s thought leadership on strategy, with both parties agreeing to explore collaborations,” said MTI CEO Hilmy Cader in a media release.
“Recently, the State Trading Corporation of Bhutan Ltd (STCBL) selected MTI Consulting to help re-structure the organisation via an assignment on organisational development. STCBL is one of the largest state-owned enterprises in Bhutan and we are looking forward to collaborating with MTI Consulting to deliver this project,” said Ms. Ugyen Lham – MTI’s Bhutan-based Associate.
