Peradeniya University Alumni Assoc. Colombo Chapter plants trees
View(s):In keeping with theme of clean environment and raising awareness on environment, the Alumni Association of University of Peradeniya Colombo Chapter (AAUPCC) conducted a tree-planting programme at Bomiriya Madya Maha Vidyalaya (MMV), Kaduwela, on October 18, with the participation of teachers, students, past pupils, well-wishers and parents of the students.
During this environment preservative programme, 100 plants consisting Jack, Mee and fruits were planted on land belonging to the school and its students entrusted with nursing the plants .
The programme was conducted under the leadership of the AAUPCC President Col. Dr Udula Krishnaratne, with coordination of Lawyer Janatha Dolawatta, who is an Old Boy of Bomiriya MMV, under the patronage of Deputy Principal Ajith Attanyake, Mr Jagath Dahanayake, Mr Priyath Cabral and the AAUPCC council members.
AAUPCC intends to conduct similar programmes in selected schools in the Western Province, in the future.
