View(s):In its endeavour to reinforce the message that RMIT makes its students `ready for work and life of the future’, the University is organising a series of symposium `Future of Work Talks’ in India and Sri Lanka in the first week of November 2019.
The future is exciting yet unknowable. What is known, is that students will face significant disruption from new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information technology (IT) in the future. Attending the Future of Work Talks is critical to future career success and being able to deeply understand the limits and intersections of all these new possibilities.
Do join RMIT and its key industry partner Cap Gemini who will share their views on how these advancements will shape and disrupt the future of learning and work. Importantly, take away how to best prepare for these changes to get ahead and be work ready no matter what happens. AI will create jobs. Mr Chaminda Ranasinghe, Chief Marketing Officer, RMIT University. Chaminda is an accomplished leader with 20 years of expertise in transforming organisations across the globe into innovative, market-leading digital organisations. As Chief Marketing Officer, Chaminda leads Global Marketing, Digital & Experience and Student Recruitment for RMIT University. His diverse experience includes having worked with iconic organisations such as ANZ, Energy Australia, Aviva and Ford Motor Company across the US, UK, Asia and Australia. His approach is underpinned by developing high performing teams and fostering a collaborative organisational culture focused on customer centricity. Chaminda will share his own personal journey providing insights on how the world of work continues to transform.
Professor John Thangarajah, Associate Dean (Head), Computer Science and Software Engineering, RMIT University.Professor Thangarajah is a self-confessed technophile who’s looking forward to a world where artificial intelligence can improve our daily lives.With his research into artificial intelligence, he sees potential to make a significant difference in the defence and emergency management sectors.His expertise in this area also forms the basis for his teaching in both the Master of Information Technology and the Master of Computer Science.
Mr. Darshan Shankavaram, Executive Vice President and Leader of Global DCXl Delivery Leader, Capgemini, India.Darshan Shankavaram is an Executive Vice President and Leader of Global DCXl Delivery Leader at Capgemini, India. As a part of his role, Darshan is globally responsible for overseeing and building up Capgemini’s Digital Customer Experience delivery, IP and portfolio of Digital Customer experience for the Capgemini group. Darshan has a technology background and has 3 patents in the area of Mobile Commerce. He has done his Masters in Telecom and Software from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and B.Tech from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore
