Dewni Nihara claimed a hat-trick for Dharmapala College
Dewni Nihara scored 38 runs and captured five wickets including a hat trick to help Dharmapala College Pannipitiya crush Princess of Wales College Moratuwa by 99 runs in the Schools Under-19 Girls Cricket Tournament match played at Pannipitiya.
Electing to bat first Dharmapala scored 149/9 in a match reduced to 23 overs per team due to rain and damp ground conditions. Dewni top the score card with 38 off 29 balls with four hits to the ropes. Harini Perera, Dilhani Karunadeera and Manudi Nanayakkara captured two wickets each.
Dewni captured five wickets including a hat-trick while Dhanushi Vinoja and Dilmi Perera captured two wickets each to bowl out Princess of Wales College for 50 runs in 14.1 overs. Dewni bowling right arm medium fast had Praneesha Sewwandi caught in the second ball of her second over and bowled out Manudi Dunangi and Dilhani Karunadeera in the next two balls to record her hat-trick and bowled out Harini Perera in the final ball of the over. Achini Lakmali scored 18 runs.
