40 Sri Lankan students receive Russian scholarships
View(s):The Russian Government has awarded 40 scholarships to Sri Lankan students who have excelled in their GCE Advanced Level Examination, for the academic year 2019, which includes bachelors, masters and PhD programmes.
40 students were selected by the Russian Embassy Cultural Section – Russian Centre in Colombo together with the Ministry of Higher Education in Sri Lanka and approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
These scholarships have been awarded to specialties such as General Medicine, Agriculture, Aircraft Engineering, Computer Science, Earth Science, Management, Arts and Culture, International Relations, Linguistics and Russian Language etc. whereas the students have been selected to study further at Russian state universities in various cities such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Barnaul etc.
Every year the Russian Government offers state scholarships to Sri Lankans, covering the cost of education, which implies free of charge tuition.
