Stay tuned for the most anticipated Geek event of the year
The 5th installment of Lanka Comic Con will take place from December 7-8 from 10AM to 6PM at Maradana Trace Expert City. However, for the first time, there will be limited ticketing. According to Thilani Samarasinha, the Principal Organiser of Lanka Comic Con, sales began on November 2 with many geeks rushing over to the Liberty Plaza lobby to get their hands on the first batch of tickets. A one-day pass ticket is Rs. 300 and the two-day pass is priced at Rs. 500, and is completely free for children under the age of 12. If tickets are remaining, they can be purchased on the event day itself at Rs 400 for a one-day pass. 
Tickets could also be purchased at the following venues: at the Kollupitiya Red Dot Geek outlet in Liberty Plaza, Anim8 in Thimbirigasyaya, Wellawatte Savoy Cinema, Yamato One in Jana Jaya City, Jolly’s Toy Show in Mount Lavinia, and Red Dot Geek in Ja-Ela. Also tickets will be available from Collectique.
This year due to security restrictions, several cosplay props have been banned we are told. Including modern looking prop guns (however guns with flintlocks and buck rogers ray guns are allowed), real bladed weapons, and large backpacks. Items that aren’t banned but are discouraged are backpacks, laptop bags, and other similar baggage including anything that could potentially cause injury to another person. Acceptable items are cloth bags, polythene bags, transparent bags, and Sci-Fi prop guns.
The Lanka Comic Con team also reserves the right to ask any attendee to put away any item or to keep any item away from the venue. Any attendee to Lanka Comic Con is deemed to have consented to these restrictions. Organisers have also asked that attendees cooperate with security for safety measures.
