View(s):The CFS Prithipura Home will hold its annual fund raising sale on Wednesday, November 13, at the Lionel Wendt Memorial Art Centre from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Items on sale will include semi-precious and ethnic jewellery, handicrafts, bags, clothes, skin care items, gift wrapping, paper and bags, food, vegetables, stationery and hand made greeting cards. Christmas decorations and household goods including plasticware will also be available for purchase.
Prithipura Home is a residential facility for 66 mentally and physically differently abled residents whose ages range from young children to adults in their fifties and sixties.
Many are orphaned, abandoned by their families or referred by the courts and the Social Services Department. They spend their entire lives at the Home, which offers a safe place for the well-being and rehabilitation of the residents, who need special care and attention.
The monthly operating cost for the Prithipura Home is about Rs. one million. While donations and a small government stipend cover a minimal amount of the costs to run the Home, additional money for salaries, administration and maintenance have to be raised from fundraising activities such as the sale.
All are invited to come and support this special fundraiser event on behalf of the residents of Prithipura Home.
