British School clinch inaugural T10 Tourney
View(s):The British School in Colombo (BSC) clinched the inaugural 4-Schools Under-19 T10 Cricket Tournament when they edged-out Colombo International School (CIS) by four wickets in the final encounter worked off at the Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita.
CIS electing to bat first got off to a flying start thanks to a 25-ball 45 from Raveen Nanayakkara. However, BSC managed to pull things back through Kavinda Subasinghe (2/8) and Thishan Kahadawalaarachchi (2/9) as CIS were restricted to 67 for ninein 10 overs.
BSC in reply, got off to a solid start with Pradyun Saikia scoring 23 in 15 balls before they lost their way midway in the innings following three run outs.
BSC needed five runs from the last two deliveries and they held their nerves before registering a last-ball thriller with four wickets to spare.
