Garnet House, winners of AIS Athletic Meet

Garnet House emerged overall champions at the annual Inter-House Athletic Meet of Asian International School, which was held at the Sugathadasa Stadium on October 18. It was a colourful day of track and field amidst a festive atmosphere.

The day commenced with houses parading on the theme ‘International Festivals’. Garnet House had chosen the Chinese New Year, Topaz – Brazilian Rio Carnival, Sapphire – Winter Festival and Amethyst had picked the Mardi Gras. The students had taken much trouble in preparing for the parade as well as decorating their house tents in line with their theme.

Over 100 events in track and field were worked out during the day with the officials of the Amatuer Athletic Association of Sri Lanka officiating. Amethyst House was adjudged the best parade and house decorations while Garnet House secured the overall championship.
