A day to be written in golden letters in the Annals of Maris Stella College
View(s):In order to entertain and inform students about the history, culture, literature and achievements associated with English Language, Maris Stella College Negombo held the “English Day”, on 18th October 2019 at the college premises.
A notable alumnus of the College, Ashan Dias, also a great actor in the film industry of the island, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The day, which will be written in golden letters in the annals of the college, was adorned with various events such as interviews, orations, musical items, recitation items, dancing items and many more.
The students who excelled in English competitions were felicitated too. Cottages which had been made in the quadrangle of the college to depict some important eras of English literature such as Elizabethan era, Victorian era and Romantic era embellished the day.
Bro. Michael De Waas (Principal), Mrs. Nirmala Wijedasa (Head of the English Department of the College) and all the english teachers were the driving force behind the performance of the students on that day.
