The Japanese Embassy recently organised a cultural event ‘Beautiful Harmony’ at the Colombo City Centre. This event was organized to commemorate the enthronement of the Emperor and the dawning of a new Japanese era ‘Reiwa’ translated to mean ‘a beautiful harmony’ which was also the main theme of this year’s cultural event. Visitors had the opportunity to observe Ikebana and Bonsai demonstrations and learn a few techniques and skills about traditional Jpanese arts. The festival featured an array of martial arts performances and a demonstration on flying paper planes.
