Australian artist Tone & I has secured a sixth week at the pinnacle of the UK singles chart with ‘Dance Monkey’. The song was helped by 11,450 downloads, 9.33 streams with a combined sale of 84,500. The 26 year old singer has achieved all this in the UK without a single appearance in the country. She however was due to give two shows in London on November 15 and 16.

Ozzy Osbourne is to release a new album ‘Ordinary Man’ next January. The lead single from the album is ‘Under The Graveyard’. The 70 year old rock legend and former Black Sabbath member last released an album in 2010. Recently he was featured on Post Malone’s single ‘Take What You Want’ with Travis Scott. The new album is produced by Andrew Watt.

Meghan Trainor is to release her much delayed third album ‘Treat Myself’ on 31st January 2020. She became famous with her global hit song ‘All About The Bass’. Trainor made the announcement on the Ellen DeGeneres show recently. Trainor also added her father and fiancé are performing on the album.

Reports have emerged that Miley Cyrus has had surgery to repair her damaged vocal chords. The singer who was first thought to be suffering with a tonsils issue had the surgery when the actual problem was. She is reported to be recovering at home. ‘Stayin  Alive’ appeal to save Gaumont cinema

 

In 1957 there was new pop group called the Rattlesnakes. They first performed at the Gaumont cinema in Chorlton, Manchester.

They were the Gibb brothers who then became the Bee Gees. Now fans of the group including a few of the Gibb brother’s cousins are trying to save the Gaumont cinema as it may be sold off and razed to the ground. Fans of the Bee Gees have set up the Stayin’ Alive  appeal with the hope of raising £500,000 so that the venue where the Bees Gees  gave their first public performances can be turned into a arts, music and film performance centre for the community.

 

 

Dua Lipa scores sixth UK Top 10 hit

 

 

Dua Lipa scored her sixth UK top 10 hit when ‘Don’t Start Now’ debuted at No: 2 on the singles chart.

The break up and move on song is the lead single from the English singer song writer’s next album.

The popularity of ‘Don’t Start Now’ could be down to Lipa’s live performance of the track at the MTV –EMV awards in Seville, Spain last weekend. The song features the famed Nile Rodgers with his distinct chucking guitar playing.

Pete Townshend of The Who has said he will smash a guitar on stage only for charity. He along with his band mates was famous dashing guitars. The last time he smashed a guitar – it was on the David Letterman show which was auctioned for $168,000.

Billie Eilish has released a new song titled ‘Everything I Wanted’ on November 13. The song is not on her current album ‘When We All Fall A sleep, Where Do We Go?’.  This is an unusual move since singles and album are now released on Fridays.
