Jethon, Manuth steer Wesley to innings win
An impressive match bag haul of 11 for 50 by Jethon Wiman and a allround performance by Manuth Samarakoon who cracked a ton and bagged six scalps paved the way for Wesley to record an innings and 35-run win over Nalanda Boys School, Minuwangoda in the Under-13 Inter-School Cricket encounter played at Campbell Park.
Allround performances by Ashen Nethsara and Sithum Vihanga helped Sri Devananda MV, Ambalangoda coast to an innings win against Gamini National School, Bentota played at Balapitiya. A ton by Rivith Jayasuriya and a eight-wicket match bag by Yenula Devthusa saw Prince of Wales record a 191-run against President’s College, Maharagama at Moratuwa.
There were two other outright wins recorded by Wadduwa Central College against Karandeniya Central College and St. Sebastian’s against De Mazenod while the other matches ended in first inning wins for St. Thomas’ Prep, Nalanda, Mahinda, Bandaranayake Central, Veyangoda and CWW Kannangara MMV, Hunumulla.
