Floods follow drought for rice bowl

With rice prices shooting up, the Government is taking measures to release buffer stocks from the mills, hoping for a bountiful harvest, but the task may not be easy as Sri Lanka’s rice bowl of Anuradhapura and many other areas are heavily flooded and the harvest may be seriously affected.
