Special programme for Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thera’s 77th birthday
View(s):A special religious programme will be held on December 14, to mark the 77th birthday of the Chief Sanganayake of the Colombo New Korale, Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thera. 
As part of the commemoration events alms will also be offered to 250 student monks from rural temples at the Gangaramaya temple.
Under the patronage of the Dayaka Sabha of the Gangaramaya Temple stationary items and financial assistance will be provided to those monks.
A visit to the Colombo Planetarium, National Museum and Parliament have also been included in the programme for the student monks.
The founder of the Sri Jinarathana Vocational Technical Training Centre, in Colombo, where thousands of young students have received training, Ven Gnanissara Thera also contributed to build the Katharagama pilgrimage rest house.
Ven Gnanissara Thera is currently receiving medical treatment in Singapore.
