Army ground Airmen to earn bonus point
View(s):Army Sports Club secured a vital bonus-point by registering a 26-8 win over Air Force Sports Club in their Dialog Rugby League 2019/2020 match played at Navy Grounds in Welisara yesterday.
The soldiers, who lost against CH & FC last week, put up an improved performance to score four tries and three conversions, while the airmen managed only a solitary try and one penalty.
At the half-time, Army led 12-3 in their adopted home grounds in Welisara.
With this win, Army climbed to the third position in the points table with nine points, headed by the defending champions, Kandy Sports Club after two weeks of rugby. Air Force once again languish at the bottom of the table without securing even one point.
