Lyceumers bag ‘A’ division 1st Runners up at All Island Chess

The U-15 boys team from Lyceum, Nugegoda emerged first runner-up at the All Island Inter-School Team Chess Championships held recently.
The seven-member team includes Sasandu Dissanayake, Thevindu Nagasinghe, Mesanda Gamage, Sethum Weerasinghe, Manith Liyanage ,Lisara Kodithuwakku and Sethmika Hemachandra. Meanwhile the U-9 Boys team was placed first runner up in ‘B’ Division with Dulein Labunahewage receiving a Board Prize. The U-11 Boys team was placed 6th in ‘B’ Division and U-13 Boys was placed 5th in ‘A’ Division with Tathika Waduge and Senethu Liyana Hewage receiving board prizes. Lyceum International School Nugegoda was also the only International School to have been placed among top 3 in the Under 15 Boys ‘A’ Division category which is a proud achievement for the school.
