The year the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA Sri Lanka) celebrates its 20th Anniversary, conducted its 16th Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday, 10th December 2019 at Lotus Hall, BMICH, Colombo under the distinguished patronage of the Canadian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka His Excellency David McKinnon. The keynote speaker was Mr. Paul Thompson, Director, European Federation for Accountants and Auditors for SMEs (EFAA).
CMA Sri Lanka has conferred membership to 153 Fellow Certified Management Accountants (FCMA), 105 Associate Certified Management Accountants (ACMA) and presented certificates and awards to students who have passed the examinations of CMA in November 2018 and May 2019. This comprised 67 CMA Passed Finalists, 491 Certificate recipients, who have completed Operational Level, Managerial and Strategic Levels & Prize Winners.
His Excellency David McKinnon in his Chief Guests address congratulated all new members and those qualifying at the CMA examinations and was pleased to be with CMA Sri Lanka on this historic occasion as Canada had been closely associated in the founding of CMA Sri Lanka in 1999 when CMA Canada (now CPA Canada) provided the technical assistance with support from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
Further he stated that we are happy to note that CMA Sri Lanka, as the National Professional Management Accounting Body in Sri Lanka, has made rapid progress over 20 years.
