Horizon Campus hold an Orientation for its 6th batch of students for the BIT Degree
View(s):Horizon Campus, having partnered with the University of Moratuwa (UOM) to offer the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) held screensful orientation programme at its regional centre in Kandy for their 3rd batch and at the main Campus in Malabe for their 6th batch of students.
Over 200 prospective graduates received an insight into the many comprehensive facilities and exciting career pathways offered through this degree.
The degree covers every major area of IT that comprise of Programming, Networking, Data Management Systems, Web Technologies, Visual Application Programming, Computer Architecture, Intelligent Systems, Multimedia Design, Computational Mathematics, Database Management Systems, Network Security, Digital Image Processing and gives exposure to industry training trends.
With the degree being highly recognised and accepted by employers across industries in the country these graduates will get the opportunity to work in all facets of IT, such as software engineering, applications development, systems analysis, computer programming, systems design and engineering and business analysis.
Chairman of the Horizon Campus, Mr. Upul Daranagama stated ‘these days, it’s not enough simply to know how technology works. Creating real value from technology requires a thorough understanding of interactions with business processes and organisational culture.
At Horizon Campus we partnered to offer the BIT Degree from the University of Moratuwa as it has a curriculum that trains students to think, create and translate and learn to embrace technology not just for its own sake but for driving business value.
Technological innovations are in demand in many different fields and occupations. New ideas and creative skills are needed to make those fields more effective, efficient, and able to cope with the accelerating changes in the industry. Our mission therefore through this degree is to prepare students to make huge impacts through technology.
As such, with programmes supported by leading edge learning and teachings, our IT students and graduates can translate their knowledge, new ideas, and innovations into lucrative business opportunities.
