Nawaloka College Alumni excels at Swinburne with Prestigious Student Excellence Award

Shane John, a proud alumnus from Nawaloka College was the recipient of a student excellence award from Swinburne.
“Earlier this year I was awarded the ANL Prize in recognition of being the highest scoring undergraduate student in the Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management unit in 2018. This award was generously funded by ANL Container Line & CMA CGM Group Agencies (Australia and NZ) which is a multinational organization” Shane explained.
“What made this achievement so significant for me is that prior to undertaking my higher studies, I worked for CMA CGM Lanka (which is a sister company) in Colombo for approximately two years, and winning this award enabled me to gain a foothold in operations here in Australia. I was able to network with representatives from ANL Container Line and discuss employment and graduate opportunities for 2020 in Melbourne. Furthermore, they were quite amazed how I had previously worked for a sister company! I aim to capitalize on this opportunity at the start of next year once I graduate and begin my hunt for full time work. This was definitely a blessing in disguise!” he added.
“I most certainly won’t forget how I got here and I have Nawaloka College to thank for that! The pathway programme to Swinburne gave me this opportunity without which I would never have been able to get this chance to hopefully work for such a large corporate next year!” Shane said in conclusion.
