No more written exams for pre-school diploma
View(s):Early childhood education is an important part of the learning process. The pre-school child is in an age where he/she is starting to lay the foundation to his / her life. This is the age child should be given proper guidance to shape his personality. Hence the pre-school teacher has a huge responsibility towards the nation; to develop the personality of its future citizens. This is why early childhood educators have to be educated and trained, to understand the needs of the child.
Polymath College started its diploma course in pre-school teacher training one year ago. This is conducted both in English and Sinhala media by an experienced well qualified panel of lecturers. The course contains 11 modules relevant to early childhood education. Apart from theory, the student teachers are given extensive training in teaching methodology .
The first batch of students sat their final examination this week without any handwritten answer scripts. This is the first time a pre-school teacher examination was successfully conducted online in Sri Lanka. No more written tests for the students enrolling for the Pre- school Diploma at Polymath College said Mr. Upali Gunasekera, Principal. Polymath college provides all the modern conveniences and state of the art technology to its students.
This move by Polymath College pre-school teacher training centre provides the opportunity for the pre-school student teachers to get themselves trained in an IT related environment which leads the pre-school kids to be more ready to the trends of the modern world
