DSS crush Maris Stella by innings
View(s):D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo recorded a crushing innings and 147-run win over Maris Stella, Negombo in an Under-19 Inter-School Cricket match at the Army ground in Panagoda yesterday.
Muditha Lakshan laid the foundation for their massive win by scoring a career best knock of 190 as DSS declared at 465/5 in their first innings. On the second day Muditha, along with Manindra Jayatileke combined to bag 14 wickets, helping the side to coast to an easy victory.
Trinity recorded a comfortable ten-wicket win over Richmond in a match at Galle yesterday. Outright wins were also recorded by Siri Piyaratana MMV, Padukka, Vidyartha, Lyceum IS, Nugegoda, Rajasinghe Central, Hanwella, Karunaratne Buddhist School, Ragama and Madampa Central, Kuleegoda.
Meanwhile, St. Benedict’s dominated proceedings against Royal, Colombo in a match which got underway at Kotahena yesterday.
