India’s Institute of Economic Studies hosted award ceremony in Colombo
View(s):Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena was the Chief Guest at an Institute of Economic Studies (IES) of India award ceremony, held on Friday, December 27 2019, at Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo.
The theme of the ceremony was “Indo-Sri Lanka Economic Cooperation.” Minister Gunawardena presented awards to the graduates of IES.
Among those who attended were the Guest of Honour, Tamil Nadu Minister of Cooperation Shri Sellur K. Raju, International Princess of Mindanao France, Princess Isabelle Lafforgue, Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Anila Singh and India’s National Hydroelectric Power Corporation’s (NHPC) Shri Yogendra Prasad.
The Institute based in New Delhi, annually selects cities around the world as venues for its key events, and this year they chose Colombo.
It was established in 1980 by a group of economists, parliamentarians and industrialists that studied and discussed the main issues of India’s economy and economic development. The award ceremony was followed by a business partnering event.
