SIST collaborates with the prestigious Lincoln University College

Lincoln University College in Malaysia was established in the year 2002 as Lincoln College and then upgraded to Lincoln University College in the year 2011.

The university received a 5 star ranking in the year 2017 by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia.

The university is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and a full member of the International Association of Universities (AIU). Moreover, LUC is ranked 301+ by The World University Impact Ranking by Times Higher Education in 2019.

Spectrum Institute of Science & Technology (SIST), the pioneering life sciences institute in Sri Lanka stepping into its 19th year in academics is marking yet another milestone by initiating a collaborative partnership with the Lincoln University College and thereby expanding and cascading the opportunities to the youth of Sri Lanka.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between SIST as the collaborative partner of LUC took place on the 27th of December 2019 with the participation of the chairman of SIST, Mr. Jayanthan Kulasingham and Vice Chancellor of LUC, Dr. Amiya Bhaumik .

This collaborative partnership with the Lincoln University College, Malaysia, will offer degree programmes to students who are aspiring different professional areas. SIST will pioneer the operation of 10 undergraduate degree programmes with Lincoln University College that are recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka where all four years could be completed in Sri Lanka.

SIST in collaboration with LUC, believes in providing value added education to students at a cost under one million Sri Lankan rupees with up to 50% scholarships as per the eligibility, with all modern infrastructure and laboratory facilities.

As an initiative towards students’ personality development, SIST facilitates various student oriented extracurricular activities through the Spectrum Students’ Society. The society functions under different avenues such as community service, the Green Army, Performing arts, Sports, the Editorial Board and the Visual Communication and Digital Media. The students engage in a variety of activities including the much awaited annual concert “Sparque” a night of musical and dance extravaganza.

In collaboration with Lincoln University, SIST will establish four faculties namely the Faculty of Life Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Business Management and Finance. SIST is happy in announcing that the commencement of the following programs will take place in February 2020.
