SLAF to buy Y-12s from China

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) is to acquire two new Y-12 aircraft from the Harbin Industry Group in China.

Said to cost more than US$ 3 million, this high-wing twin-engine turboprop utility aircraft has remained an SLAF asset.   One of the Y-12s crashed near Haputale last week and an SLAF Board of Inquiry is now going into the incident.
