MillenniumIT ESP excels at SLASSCOM Innovation Awards 2019
View(s):MillenniumIT ESP, one of Sri Lanka’s leading Systems Integrator and Information Systems Provider, clinched three out of three awards for their submission of technology solutions under the ‘Best Innovation in Internal Process’ category, at Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies’ (SLASSCOM) Innovation Awards and Gala 2019 held recently at Shangri-La Hotel Colombo.

The event convened under the theme of ‘Cultivating an Innovation Ecosystem’, primarily recognised the efforts of the greatest local innovators and celebrated business excellence in Sri Lanka. It was a premier technology innovation awarding event that brought together over 300 professionals from the Sri Lankan Information Technology and Business Process Management (BPM) industry.
Awards were presented under seven categories, namely Best Product Innovation, Best Disruptor Award, Best Client Delivery Innovation, Best Innovation in Internal Processes, Best Technology or Framework Innovation, Best Start-up Product/Service and Best Innovation in Business Process Management. MillenniumIT ESP secured the winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up titles under the Best Innovation in Internal Process category, the company said in a media release.
Rahal Jayawadene, MillenniumIT ESP’s Head of Technology Alliances and Innovation in his keynote titled ‘In Search of Sri Lankan Unicorns’ outlined a framework for corporates to play a pivotal part in “Sri Lanka’s vibrant Start-up Eco-system in creating our own Unicorns-Sri Lankan Tech start-ups” with a billion dollar valuation within the next few years. He also gave away several awards at other competing categories.
From the earned titles, MillenniumIT ESP’s winning title was awarded for the ‘AutoPilot’. AutoPilot is an AI enabled intelligent automation platform that can be integrated to an organisation’s existing support desk process to take intelligent decisions and to automate tasks which human agents repeat on a daily basis while they engage with customers/employees, thus minimising human intervention. The platform can also intelligently categorise the type of service requested and forward it to the relevant person(s) whilst providing a ‘quick fix’ self-solution, if required.
‘PoBot’ which won the 1st runner-up title is an innovative solution that helps robotise the purchase order process. The product will help apparel manufacturing companies to drastically reduce the response time of each department during the proforma invoice generation process which is an integral and critical part of the business for all apparel manufacturers.
The 2nd runner-up title was jointly awarded to MillenniumIT ESP and Sysco Labs. MillenniumIT ESP won the title for ‘ProTime’ which is an intuitive minimal data input mobile application that captures time and effort in service delivery, on the go. This application will address an area which has been a challenge for most organisations involved in service delivery, in capturing time and effort due to the time-consuming processes, unfriendly interfaces and challenges of system access, on the go. The App will measure and improve efficiency and profitability. The extremely user-friendly interface makes it an effective tool for end users, while the bulk of the complex work will be handled by the backend project managers and line managers. The current usage of ProTime within the service organisation is helping MillenniumIT ESP gain valuable insights for tactical and strategic decision making.
