Prosperity Toss heralds Year of the Rat at Hilton

With the dawn of the Lunar New Year 2020 (January 25) comes all the traditional celebrations and ceremonies that ensure the year brings happiness and prosperity. Hilton Colombo ushered in the Year of the Rat with the traditional ceremony of yee sang, also known as yusheng or ‘Prosperity Toss’ on Thursday 23, and launched a seasonal Chinese section of the buffet at Graze Kitchen.
Hilton staff and guests came together for the Prosperity Toss, where a colourful salad of shredded vegetables, salmon, sesame seeds and a variety of sauces were tossed together with chopsticks, each representing specific traits and blessings for the year ahead. Taking part in the yee sang ceremony encourages togetherness, and ushers in prosperity and good luck for everyone. Executive Chef Robert Mujagic and his team have created a special limited edition Chinese menu for the new year season, which will run until February 3. Joining the exciting array of international cuisines at the Graze Kitchen dinner buffet are many Chinese delicacies, from dumplings to Peking duck and more.
The dinner buffet is priced at Rs. 3,288 nett on Mondays (Hawkers Night), Rs. 3,888 nett on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and Rs. 3,988 on Thursdays to Sundays.
