Gateway Kandy celebrate 20 years with Sports Quadrangular
View(s):All plans have been laid out to hold the inaugural Sports Quadrangular 2019/2020 among four schools from Kandy — Trinity College, St. Svlvester’s College, Gateway College and Hillwood College. The sporting fiesta will include encounters of basketball, netball and football in which two teams each from the four will face off in a trophy match.
Accordingly Gateway and St. Sylvester’s will take on each other in a basketball match on February 3 at the Gateway Basketball Courts in a battle for the Asoka Herath-Ranil Meetiyagoda Challenge Trophy. The match will start at 5.25pm.
Gateway and Hillwood will feature in a netball encounter on February 6 at the Trinity College ground in Pallekele for the Rohini Alles-Somakumari Samarasinghe Challenge Trophy. The match is set to begin at 2.45pm.
On the same day at 4.40pm at the same venue, the football match between Trinity and Gateway will take place for the R.I.T. Alles-Ireland Jones Challenge Trophy.
In addition two invitational matches have been scheduled featuring Gateway, Hillwood and Girls’ High School. Gateway will meet Hillwood in a girls’ invitational basketball encounter on February 3 at 4.45pm at Gateway courts, while an invitational netball match between Gateway and Girls’ High School will be held on February 6 at 4.10pm at Pallekele.
Gateway College, Kandy are organising the inaugural annual Quadrangular Encounter in the Central Hills to commemorate its 20th anniversary celebrations.
