Using modern interactive teaching methodology and a tried and tested curriculum designed by us, our training will provide you with basic Sinhala skills to communicate in Sri Lanka with Sri Lankan cultural understanding and sensitivity.
ABOUT RAINBOW INSTITUTE OF COMMUNICATION
Rainbow Institute is a center for excellence in Communication, English and Soft Skills, set up in 2010. We are an exam preparation center for Cambridge International – UK. We have also set up training centers in seven districts of Sri Lanka for the Government of the United States of America.
We have partnered United States Peace Corps in designing the curriculum for basic Sinhala and Tamil for American Peace Corps Volunteers. We have developed the frame work for the curriculum, as well as student workbooks and teacher guides with lesson plans, adhering to Peace Corps benchmarks for this material internationally. We have also partnered the United States Full Bright Commission in conducting Sinhala and Cross Cultural Learning for Full Bright Scholars who are posted to Sri Lanka.
Rainbow Institute is led by University Academics, Senior Teachers & top Corporate Trainers with international credentials. All instructors have post graduate qualifications and rich experience in teaching. We adopt the latest international teaching methodology and adhere to the high quality control measures.
LEARNING WITH FUN
The Sinhala and Culture for Expatriates training is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursday, 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm
To help learners to get first hand insights to Sri Lankan culture, behavior and thought process we are adding value to the class room learning with exciting Study visits on Saturdays 9.30 am 12.30 pm (approximately 3 hours per visit) . These excursions in and around Colombo will also provide a unique experience for learners to practice the skills in Sinhala that they develop with locals in their natural settings. Some of the venues for study visits are: Colombo Fort Railway Station, Pettah Market, Colombo Museum and Wetland Park.
SMALL GROUP CLASS WITH PERSONALIZED ATTENTION
The training covers a duration of 49 hours – 40 hours class room learning and 9 hours study visits (approximately 3 months) The Class Room training will take place at Rainbow Institute premises, 28, School Lane, Colombo 3. Locations for study visits will be arranged according to the interests of the learners.
