Let Edlocate bridge your path to Australia;
Edlocate is an organization with a success story of over two decades. Each year we give students the opportunity to meet with representative flown down directly from the Australian Universities to discuss the way forward.
Edlocate has a unique stance in the market as they are able to offer the students an option of 28 universities, covering all territories of Australia. This includes the top 8 universities, known as the Group of 8 (Go8)
If you belong to the A Level class of 2019 and are looking to expand your horizon you can come and meet a representative from an Australian University of your choice or you can discuss with several reps from different universities, which will help you in making a suitable selection. For those sitting for the London ‘A’ Level in 2020, this would be a great opportunity to discuss your options and identify what requirements are necessary to do your desired field of study, at the University of your choice.
These interview sessions organized by Edlocate is open to students as well as parents, there will not be an entry fee to attend the event. When you visit, you will be exposed to all the options available within the education sphere. While most think of generic tertiary education options such as Medicine, Engineering, Law, Business and Marketing, the employability of today’s market is vaster and students have been presented with opportunities to acquire knowledge in areas such as, Actuarial Science, Cyber Security, Optometry, Early Childhood Care and Education to name a few.
As the entry requirements may vary depending on the discipline of study, students with ‘A’ Level results, which are at an optimal level, can select a niche field to enhance their employability and those with moderately high results could also stand a chance to get placements within these universities.
The Australian universities not only offer Degree programmes, they also offer post graduate as well as pathway programmes. These pathway programmes will enable students who have the required results from the ‘O’ Level to get university acceptance. The pathway is a Diploma certification, upon completion of which the student can go on to read for a Degree.
During the event the students can discuss their study options with the representatives. The process is quite simple. Once the student arrives, they will have to fill in a basic information sheet, after which they can meet the representative of their choice. If they are interested, they can fill up the university application form at the location and the representative will be able to give the student a conditional offer provided their result sheet is available with them, pending other required documents.
If the students wish to, they can visit the reps to gather university prospectors and related information and once they have made a decision, they can visit the Edlocate office either in Colombo or Kandy and apply to the selected entity at that point as well.
When one meets the representative from Australia, they will not only disperse information about the study courses, they are also equipped to give information on the living facilities, both on and off campus, as well as inform the potential student on the life style, recreation options, community based interaction possibilities etc., at the selected campus and city.
Edlocate has thus far connected over 800 students with universities in Australia and we are proud to articulate that each one has been an immense success story. Some of their testimonies can be read or viewed online via our social media platforms.
When selecting a foreign country to do your tertiary education, there are many benefits in selecting Australia. The syllabus of study for all avenues are regularly monitored, audited and enhanced by a government body, thus ensuring the knowledge absorbed by students are in line with the ever changing industry backgrounds.
In terms of volume of international students, Australia is only proceeded by USA, even England has a lesser number of foreign students, making Australia an ideal location in terms of having a community you can relate to, while the universities there are also well equipped to educate and assist such students. In terms of finances or budgetary concerns, Lankan rupee also holding a fair exchange rate against the AUS dollar in comparison to the US dollar or the GBP.
The advantage that trumps all, is being eligible to gain post study work experience in Australia, through a legitimate visa granted to international students. This will be an immaculate stepping stone to boost your career.
The university representative you meet will be able to provide further details on this and the industry/ organizations their university is connected with.
