SLTC moves into spaces of IESL College of Engineering
View(s):In a recent development Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) has acquired the spaces utilized by IESL College of Engineering located at Gregory’s Road, Colombo 07, to enhance the higher education opportunities for students to pursue their higher education aspirations.
This move further expands its journey into higher education within the short span of SLTC’s existence.
It is reported that the new arrangement includes the acquisition of existing faculty, laboratories, infrastructure,and all other facilities that are available at the IESL College of Engineering.
Ithas been done with a view of expandingSLTC’s present capacity and to enrich its learning platforms, to deliver adiversely extensive pathway offer for students, that will comprise fulltime, part-timeand blended learning opportunities offered through SLTC’s Schools of Engineering, Technology, Business, IT & Computing, Music, and Professional Studies.
With this move, SLTC will step in to the spaces operated by the IESL College of Engineering and anticipate building on the strong foundation and work ethic personified by the IESL College of Engineering during the last 50 years. Offering a broader spectrum of study pathways, to cater to a wider cross-section of aspiring students, whilst enhancing and operating through the environment created by IESL College of Engineering, SLTC plans to deliver a quality platform for students seeking to further their higher education.
It is understood that the necessary flexibilities to those who are already in the work force to further their respective careers, will be provided.
Sri Lanka Technological Campus is a state affiliated, corporate funded, and a fully pledged university in the country, with it main campus located in the SLT Satellite earth station premises in Padukka and its city campus located at the TRACE Expert City in Colombo. SLTC presently offers its students clean and comfortable on-campus housing, state-of-the-art libraries and laboratories, indoor and outdoor sports activities, cafeterias and classrooms. It is reported that SLTC, with the new arrangementwill now possess equally large and well-equipped university spaces in the heart of Colombo.
The IESL College of Engineering has been the premier professional body for engineers for the past 50 years, offering a respected degree programmes and other higher education qualifications that are widely recognised,in the fields of engineering,
The new arrangement that has been reportedly formulated by SLTC, will enhance and add value to a wider cross section of students pursuing higher education by not limiting their scope to Engineering, but allowing them to engage in the changing job requirements of the future.
As such, the synergies and broader value proposition that SLTC will now present by moving into the spaces of the IESL College of Engineering will only add to the creation of students who will fit into a demanding professional spaces and challenges of tomorrow.
