Australia celebrates the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales, and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip on the 26th of January each year. Celebrated as Australia Day, this is a salient holiday for the citizens of the ‘Land Down Under’. UTS Insearch, as it is based in said land, took necessary steps to celebrate the holiday in Sri Lanka.
It is a day that lets Sri Lankans witness the culture of a foreign nation, and UTS Insearch made certain that the attendees of its first Australia Day received a firsthand experience of this. The celebration was unique and a new experience for the students, and since they are to be transferred to Australia in a matter of months, it is evident that it was the mandatory experience which gave the necessary exposure beforehand.
Two notable personalities directly from UTS Australia graced the event with their presence. Project Manager, Michaela James and Digital Marketing Specialist, Ian Farmer represented the coveted University of Technology Sydney. The Principal of UTS Insearch, Sri Lanka, Alison Hiscox shared her own views with the attending students and staff.
UTS Insearch is an exciting new addition to the international education market in Sri Lanka and is quickly making its presence felt through high performing quality students and campus facilities second to none. The launch of UTS Insearch in Sri Lanka marks a momentous occasion – it’s the first time an Australian University has entered into Sri Lanka without a local partner.
This is a direct investment that allows the students to receive a first-hand feel of the University experience, exactly as if studies were being followed in Australia.
UTS Insearch is fully equipped with the necessary facilities to make sure that the student experience is comparable to that experienced by students in Sydney. With significant study areas and a fifth floor student lounge with amazing views, the premises are located in an easily accessible and prime location. With its maiden Australia Day celebration in the bag, UTS Insearch is poised to face a successful future, along with its precious cohort of students.
UTS Insearch’s next intake commences Monday, 16 March and it would like to invite all prospective students who want to be fully prepared for jobs ‘that don’t yet exist’ to contact them on 077 477 5774 to learn more about Australia’s Number 1 Young University in the iconic Australian city of Sydney – UTS ‘The University of Technology Sydney’.
