Saunders SC and Police SC through to FA Cup final

Saunders SC and Police SC qualified for the finals of Vantage FA Cup Football Tournament yesterday at Racecourse ground in the semi-finals.
In the first semi-final, Saunders SC trounced Blue Eagle SC 5-1. The Air Force side were handicapped after receiving two red cards – Nipuna Bandara and D.S.C Fernando.
Saunders led 2-1 at half time through goals by Chamith Rashmitha (32nd minute) and M.S.M Kurshid (39th) in the first half before N.C Abesekara struck a brace in the 57th and second minute of injury time. N. Niresh also got on the scoreboard in the 86th minute. M.M.P.C.M Fernando pulled one back for Blue Eagles in the 41st minute.In the second semi final, Police SC beat Blue Star Kalutara on penalty kicks 4-2 after the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
