People’s Bank helps SME sector growth with ‘Entrepreneurial Glory’ programme
View(s):People’s Bank, in keeping with its vision to drive forward the expansion and boost the expertise of the Small and Medium businesses in Sri Lanka, recently organised the ‘Entrepreneurial Glory’ programme for the Hambanthota District at the Golden Pearl Hotel in Tangalle.
The informative full-day programme featured a series of seminars tailor-made to provide valuable insights to over 200 small and medium-scale entrepreneurs looking to start their own business or expand their existing ventures, the bank said in a media release.
Two leading external experts, Bandula Haputhanthrige – former Commissioner – Inland Revenue Department and Sanath Gamage – Human Skills Specialist/Trainer, addressed the large audience. Among the speakers from People’s Bank were Krishani Narangoda – Deputy General Manager (Enterprise Banking) and Wickrama Narayana – Assistant General Manager (SME).
“The programme focused on providing important information for entrepreneurs to succeed in their respective businesses by enhancing their knowledge on a variety of vital topics such as Business Planning, Marketing, Accounting, Financial and Time Management whilst also educating them on key related aspects including taxes and banking procedures,” it said.

Through the Entrepreneurial Glory programme, the bank goes beyond by providing invaluable knowledge to these businesses so that they can increase profitability, generate employment and drive economic growth.
