Australian mystery thriller movie in town
‘Aiyai: Wrathful Soul’, an Australian psychological mystery thriller directed by Ilanthirayan Alan Arumugam in his directorial debut will be released from February 28 in cinemas in and around Colombo.
Produced by Kanesh Mohana Sundaram of Aiyai Pty Ltd, the script was written by Mukund Ramanad and Charles Benedict.
Kiran, an Indian student living in Australia, becomes a medium to exist for a vengeful spirit of a homeless woman. Kiran gets visions of many things he cannot understand, and the spirit inside him uses Kiran to fulfill its vengeance.
Kabir Singh plays the role of the protagonist as Kiran Tahlia, Jade Holt as Sara Martin, Korey Williams as Steve Lewis, Anthony Miller as Police Officer, Salvatore Merenda as Dave Vinod and Mohana Sundaram as Felix. Others in the cast are Richard Huggett, Marco Sinigaglia, Rhiannon Watson, Pennyanne Lace , Ozzie Devrish, Craig Ingham, Asabi Goodman, Wayne Bassett, Green Pearl Grantham, Graceyn Arkinstall, William Wensley, Alex Contis, Ged Maybury, Vicky Loughrey. Therese Westbrook, Jack McGuigan, Jack Duzgun Ozturk and Tony Jessica Berry.Damien Beebe handles cinematography, and production design is by Tim Hodgman. Editing and sound design is by Roberto Merlini and the music is composed by Jason Fernandez. The film was entirely filmed in Australia.
Imported by Ceylon Theatres Ltd and distributed by CEL, the film will be screened at MC Colombo, Empire Arcade, CCC, PVR cinemas and Savoy.
