Author of Ravana books passes away
View(s):Dr Mirando Obeysekere, who enlightened Sri Lankans with his well-researched books on King Ravana, as well as the country’s old mansions (walauwas) passed away peacefully at his residence in Pallepola, Matale at the age of 81.
The award-winning author, researcher and scholar was the author of a large number of Sinhala and English books including Ravana-King of Lanka, Ravana-watha, Sri Lankawe Walawu Namawaliya, Sri Lankawe Brahmanayo, etc.
The funeral rites were held on Friday (21) attended by close family and friends.
